Disconnected!
I just can’t figure it out. I have some very weird internet at my house. I run off of a network of 4 computers in my house. We’ve never had problems until about 3 months ago when we started having random disconnects!
My mother’s computer runs Windows Live Messenger, and a 3D Chat called “There.”
My little brother is on another computer and he runs a random array of games. Just those free MMO games you can find online that little script kiddies play.
My youngest brother plays games that aren’t even online, but the computer does connect through wireless automatically.
My computer runs mIRC (connected all the time), Windows Live Messenger, and an occasional game or two (Guild Wars, Dungeon Runners, etc).
So now that you know what all the computers in the house run I can now tell you what our problem is!
So the past 3 months we go through about a week or two of random disconnects every 10 minutes or less. Here is a small little bit from mIRC that shows all the disconnect times and reconnections.
5:46a • • Attempting to rejoin channel #killagraphix

So basically, mIRC showed that I disconnected at 5:46, 6:34, 7:02, 7:17, and 7:29. That’s quite annoying, really. It wouldn’t bother me if my disconnection wasn’t announced in IRC every time I disconnect, but it does.
This happens to all the computers on the network. We all disconnect for a second and then we reconnect to the internet. It’s not a network cable issue, it never tells us a network cable is unplugged. It has to be something with the router I suppose — I don’t know how to fix this though. I’ve searched Google, asked friends, asked tech support. No one knows why this is happening to us.
Does anyone else out there have any ideas??
